With more than two decades of residential real estate experience and over $500 million in transaction volume, Cummins has found his new home here at Baird & Warner. His decision came down to a few simple reasons — independence, integrity, and what he sees as a golden opportunity to join a brokerage that is focused on doing things the right way.

"In today's marketplace, corporate-owned brokerages control much of the market, which invites unfair practices and leaves consumers at a disadvantage," said Cummins. "I've always believed in fair housing and an open market, and I've been outspoken in my opposition to practices like private office-exclusive listings, which I find fundamentally at odds with transparency."

Cummins continued, emphasizing how today's real estate market is more challenging than ever for buyers — but that it doesn't always have to be that way. "Offering equal opportunities for consumers to consider and pursue all available options is the essence of fair housing practices. It is the hallmark of our industry," said Cummins. "Sellers certainly have the right to market their property any way they see fit, but are they really best served if exposed within a single brokerage? I think not."

At Baird & Warner, we're intentional about balancing innovation and adaptability with a commitment to a lasting, stable future for our company and brokers. It's a quality that resonated with Cummins. "What drew me to Baird & Warner was its independence, its investment in growth, and its culture of professionalism," said Cummins. "Despite having been around since 1855, Baird & Warner has never been more agile and is positioning itself more like a startup, especially when it comes to opportunities to grow on the North Shore. That's the kind of company and the kind of story I want to be part of."

Our recent rebrand and strategic expansion, including welcoming fellow independent brokerage Dream Town Real Estate into the family, speaks to the fact that we are actively investing in the future and cementing our position as the leading independent brokerage in Chicagoland.

"Joining Baird & Warner allows me to align with a firm that is growing, innovating, and standing up to protect the integrity of the marketplace," added Cummins. "I'm drawn to a company where local leadership is reinvesting in the business they've built to serve our communities, clients, and consumers with excellence".

For Peter, it boils down to one thing: he wants to work on Main Street, not Wall Street. If you want to be a part of a brokerage that's committed to a sustainable future for you and your business, Baird & Warner is the place to be.
